Lauren

Hi everyone! I’m Abby, 24 year old Mechanical Engineer in Boston, MA. My mom has been a personal trainer since I was in middle school and because of that, I have always had an active lifestyle for as long as I can remember. I was always involved in teaching Zumba, playing high school varsity Tennis, and going to the gym. It wasn’t until my Junior year in college that I started lifting. I was obsessed with HIIT workouts  and ended up going to the gym 3 times a day. Eventually, that caused me to tear my ACL and had to endure 13 months of rehabilitation. During that year, my guy friends showed me some upper body exercises I could do with weights. I fell in love with it and continued on with weight lifting even after my recovery.

I created my fitness account on Instagram in 2016 after gaining 20 lbs freshman year in college. I was in the “BBG community” and the instagram was a way to keep myself accountable. After my injury, I restarted the account by uploading my weight lifting journey.

I always knew I wanted a fitness related career and working with Lauren to make L&A Movement come to life has been an absolute dream come true!

Hey, I’m Lauren! I am 24 years old & from Long Island, NY. Growing up, I’ve always maintained a pretty active lifestyle being involved with school & club sports. However, this all changed once I went away to college. Like many others, I thought the only way to stay fit was to do cardio every day of the week… yuck. Fortunately during my senior year of college, I enrolled in a weight training course and my fitness journey took a turn for the absolute best! For the last 3 years I have been weightlifting religiously as I learned it not only improves my physical well being, but my mental health too from the amazing endorphins it releases.

In 2019, I pushed myself to finally start the fitness Instagram account I’ve always dreamt of having. For YEARS I was afraid of what my peers would think but if I didn’t push those fears aside, I wouldn’t be where I am now.  (Shout out to the constant encouragement & support from Abby!)

I am incredibly excited for all that is to come for L&A Movement and I wouldn’t want to partner up with anyone else but my very best friend!
